Cringetober Prompt-List

The topic of "cringe" and "cringe culture" is an interesting subject to dissect and think about especially throughout all my years online, where cringe culture mainly strives off.

It was only till a few years ago when the movement of "cringe culture is dead" really started to take off, at least more socially it seems on sites such as twitter or tiktok, mostly in relation to online fandom. It's been a long time coming considering a lot of art especially, once again in relation to mostly fandom, had been subject to being "cringe" and the general culture around the time it strived the most from (the 2010s) had been largely focused on content exposing people or things as cringe due to whatever reason was viable at the time.

While I do believe these sentiments/"movements" are well and good intentioned (especially considering once again, this has been building up/there were people vocal about being anti cringe back when it was in it's peak) I do find myself having a sense of disconnect from what people find/think what cringe is/was and what's allowed to be "good cringe" compared to "bad cringe". I don't want to start assumpations but the more I see what people see/think is cringe, especially through these innitial cringetober prompts, I start to wonder if these people have ever actually experienced what cringe culture is, and how cruel it can be, especially targeted towards certain groups and how they were during that culture/time.

I've also just come to hate how consumerist/commercialized being "cringe" has been and become especially online, and while nobody is above being hypocrite (including me) about what they find cringe, it is deeply ironic when so called "cringe culture is dead" people get genuinly weirded out or annoyed by people anywhere posting something they themself personally consider "cringe" when it's possibly just how that person expresses themself and how they feel, just cause it's not up to a non existent standard for good cringe vs bad cringe.

My final conclusion for this mini manifesto ig is that I truely never believe cringe culture can be dead or killed, nor has it ever gone away, it's just evolved to a worser, much crueler genuine evil, sometimes hidden behind "irony", and not enough people have realized it just yet.

My only rules for this prompt list is for anyone who decides to use this, to not contradict the message behind me making this list. Every prompt must been done out of genuine love and freedom not only for yourself but for others and what you depict for these prompts.
